HMS INDUSTRIAL NETWORKS – ANYBUS WIRELESS BOLT IS HERE !

HMS Industrial Networks has introduced Anybus Wireless Bolt which makes machines communicate wirelessly. anybus-wireless

The Anybus Wireless Bolt is a wireless access point designed to be mounted on a machine or cabinet to give it wireless access via WLAN, Bluetooth or Bluetooth Low Energy.  The wireless access makes it possible to do configuration via a regular tablet or smartphone or connect to a cloud service, realizing Industrial IoT.

Giving a robust wireless interface, the Anybus Wireless Bolt is mounted onto a machine or cabinet just like a bolt is.  You can take your smartphone or tablet to a machine and use it as an HMI, typically used for configuration purposes.  Another typical use for the Anybus Wireless Bolt is connecting a machine to a cloud service.

Anybus Wireless Bolt can communicate wirelessly up to 100m via WLAN, Bluetooth and Bluetooth Low Energy.  It can also communicate with devices on serial (RS232/485), CAN or Ethernet on the wired side.  Wireless or wired, it has the same 2x9p Plug Connector.

Phoenix Contact RIFLINE Complete

Phoenix Contact’s RIFLINE Complete is a one stop shop relay system.  Why use multiple relay ranges when you can carry out all standard relay applications using just the RIFLINE Complete relay system?  RIFLINE Complete is Phoenix Contact’s new cost effective modular ice cube relay series.  The relays range from a slim 6.2 mm coupling relay to a small power contactor replacement. Intelligent Fluid Level Solutions from Sick UK

The LFP Cubic Level Sensor from Sick UK is one that uses TDR technology (time domain reflectometry), so can be used in oil- and water-based liquids without calibration.

The LFP’s guided radar uses time-of-flight technology to measure electromagnetic pulses. The time difference between the sent pulse and the reflected pulse is used to calculate the level, both as a continuous value (analog output) and a freely positionable switching point (switching output).

Due to its flexible probe that can be changed or cut, the LFP Cubic Level Sensor from Sick UK can integrate quickly into any application. The LFP Cubic can work in deposit forming and foaming liquids. The sensor’s intuitive setup uses four buttons and a display to ensure quick and easy adaptation to the application. Remote amplifier, IO-link interface and versions with a process connection in titanium are additional features for versatile use.

Phoenix PSR mini is the new generation of safety relays and the range comprises of 28 products in 6 mm and 12 mm versions. HOW IT WORKS

HMS Netbiter Remote Access provides a remote connection through Netbiter Argos to the serial and Ethernet ports on a Netbiter EC300 series gateway. This makes it possible to use PC-based software applications (such as RSLogix or TIA Portal) to program, configure or debug just as if being on site.

To establish the remote connection, the PC-based driver Netbiter QuickConnect is installed on the PC. This creates a secure tunnel through Netbiter Argos to the Netbiter gateway and also establishes a virtual connection to the software application on the PC.

The tunnel established between the laptop and the remote network can be used to create one or more channels for the actual connections to the remote devices.

THE FOLLOWING TYPES OF CHANNELS ARE SUPPORTED:

  • Network bridge
    This enables a remote connection to the network on the Ethernet LAN port of the Netbiter gateway and allows remote access to any device on that network.
  • TCP/UDP port forwarding
    A channel can be mapped to a specific remote IP-address and specific port for TCP and UDP messaging. Limiting access to specific ports and IP-addresses is often an advantage from a security perspective, which is why this method should always be preferred to Network bridge whenever possible.
  • Virtual Serial
    Provides a virtual COM port that is mapped to the RS-232 or RS-485 port on the Netbiter gateway.

SOLID SECURITY solid security

The data that is transmitted between your local PC and the machine on site is encrypted and transmitted through a secure channel.

The channel is opened with a double authentication procedure: A secure, password-protected login into the Argos server and an SMS-based verification method.

INTELLIGENT ROUTING – NO FIXED IPS NEEDED

The HMS Netbiter Argos acts as an intelligent routing portal offloading the user from having to know the IP-Address of the remote Netbiter gateway. Moreover, the Netbiter gateways provide hardware interfaces to secure the remote access on site with a keylock and LED indicator. Even users without specific IT knowledge can use the system successfully and securely.
