Supply Chain Update – Middle East Situation

Last updated: 30th March 2026

CDL is closely monitoring the developing situation in the Middle East and assessing any potential impact on global logistics, freight routes, and industrial automation supply chains.

As a precautionary measure, we have proactively contacted a number of our key manufacturing partners to understand whether there are any anticipated risks relating to transportation routes, component availability, freight costs, or overall product supply.

Based on the responses received so far, there are currently no immediate disruptions affecting supply to CDL or our customers. However, suppliers continue to monitor the situation closely given the potential for changes to global logistics conditions.

We will continue to collect updates and share further information if the situation evolves.

Manufacturer Updates (Current Status)

Schneider Electric

Schneider Electric has confirmed that its business continuity protocols are in place and that it is closely monitoring developments in the Middle East.

Based on current assessments, the company does not anticipate any short-term risk to supply. Its global supply chain network remains operational and provides the flexibility to adapt to changing conditions if required.

Schneider Electric has advised that it can review order status in real time to provide the most accurate and up-to-date logistics information. The situation remains under close monitoring, with further updates to be shared if required.

Beijer Electronics

Beijer Electronics has confirmed that it is actively working to ensure continued component availability and product supply. The company has been taking steps to secure memory components following earlier market concerns.

Due to significantly increased component costs, a surcharge has been introduced on the X2 Base V2 product family from 1 March. At this stage, Beijer has not received indications of increased transportation times or costs. However, the company notes that prolonged geopolitical disruption could potentially affect freight capacity and fuel costs.

Phoenix Contact

Phoenix Contact has advised that no delivery delays are currently expected. The company is actively monitoring the situation and will communicate any changes should circumstances evolve.

SICK

SICK has confirmed that business continuity remains fully ensured, with the company closely monitoring developments in the Middle East and coordinating across regional teams and logistics partners.

Based on current assessments, SICK does not anticipate any immediate impact on deliveries, as its logistics processes largely rely on direct routes that avoid the affected region. The company continues to review potential risks across its supply chain, particularly in relation to import and export activity.

At present, no material impact on operations is expected, and SICK will provide updates should the situation change.

Weidmüller

Weidmüller has confirmed that its logistics chains are currently not interrupted despite ongoing disruption across air and sea transport routes in the Middle East.

The company has noted some secondary impacts, including extended air freight lead times due to rerouting and rising freight costs linked to increased fuel prices. These effects are being actively managed as part of ongoing logistics planning.

At present, deliveries continue as normal, and Weidmüller remains in close monitoring of the situation.

Rittal

Rittal has indicated that there is currently no official statement from the business. However, internal feedback suggests supply conditions remain stable with healthy stock levels held both in the UK and at the company’s headquarters. The company will continue to monitor the situation.

WAGO

WAGO has confirmed that, based on current information, its supply chain is not affected by the situation in the Middle East. The company does not source components from suppliers located in the affected region, and shipments from other parts of the world continue to arrive as scheduled.

At present, WAGO does not expect any disruption to product supply. However, deliveries to customers located within the affected region may experience local logistics constraints beyond the company’s control. WAGO continues to monitor developments closely and will provide further updates should circumstances change.

Advantech

Advantech has indicated that the current situation is creating wider pressure across global air and ocean freight routes, particularly through disruption to Middle East transit hubs and ongoing rerouting away from affected areas. The company notes that while this does not currently indicate a direct supply interruption to CDL, it may result in longer transit times, reduced freight capacity, and increased logistics costs.

Advantech has highlighted that ocean shipments are being redirected via the Cape of Good Hope, which is extending lead times, while air freight is also being affected by reduced hub capacity, longer routings, and higher surcharges. The company continues to monitor the situation closely and has advised that the wider logistics impact may remain fluid as conditions develop.

Fibox

Fibox has confirmed that there are currently no impacts on deliveries to customers in Europe, including the UK and Ireland. Manufacturing and distribution operations continue to run normally and all confirmed orders are being processed as scheduled.

The company is monitoring the wider logistics environment, particularly potential increases in global freight and fuel costs. At present, Fibox does not expect any operational disruption or delivery delays for UK or Irish customers.

SMC

SMC has confirmed that it does not anticipate any short-term impact on day-to-day deliveries. The company maintains substantial stock levels in both the UK and Europe and operates multiple European manufacturing facilities, including a mass-production site in Czechia.

SMC notes that finished products are typically flown in from Japan, while raw materials are shipped into the UK on a less frequent basis. Based on its current supply chain structure and stock position, the company believes it is well placed to mitigate potential risks and maintain reliable supply.

SMC continues to monitor the situation closely, noting that longer-term impacts remain uncertain.

Legrand (UK and Ireland)

Legrand has advised that ongoing global instability, including the situation in the Middle East, is contributing to continued pressure across key areas of the supply chain, including raw materials, energy, transportation, and fuel.

While the company continues to take steps to manage these pressures, the wider cost environment remains dynamic and may influence supply chain conditions over time.

At present, Legrand has not indicated any immediate disruption to product availability, and operations continue as normal. The company will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide further updates as required.

Cembre

Cembre has confirmed that it does not anticipate any disruption to product availability or its ability to supply customers. The company has no manufacturing operations in the affected region and does not rely on supply routes that pass through it.

While there is potential for wider economic impacts, including increases in fuel and transportation costs, Cembre does not expect these to have a direct effect on its supply chain at this time. The company continues to monitor the situation closely and will provide updates if circumstances change.

PULS

PULS has advised that deliveries are currently continuing in line with confirmed orders. However, the evolving situation in the Middle East may lead to disruption across international transport and logistics networks, including changes to routing, reduced capacity, and longer transit times.

The company is actively monitoring shipments and assessing any potential impact on a case-by-case basis. Where any deviation from confirmed delivery dates is identified, PULS has confirmed it will communicate updates at order level.

PULS is also working with logistics partners to mitigate potential disruption, including reviewing alternative transport routes and prioritising critical shipments. The situation remains under close review.

Eland Cables

Eland Cables has confirmed that, despite ongoing disruption to global trade routes and rising energy costs linked to the situation in the Middle East, the impact on its supply chain remains limited at this time.

The company notes that it has minimal reliance on routes through the most affected regions and benefits from a diversified supply chain, allowing flexibility to adapt logistics and procurement where required. While some global shipping routes are experiencing longer transit times due to rerouting, this is not currently having a material impact on core supply.

At present, Eland Cables is not experiencing delays or shortages and continues to receive goods as scheduled. The situation remains under close review.

Eaton

Eaton has confirmed that it is closely monitoring developments in the Middle East, with business continuity plans in place and operating as intended.

At present, Eaton has not indicated any disruption to product availability, and operations across its supply chain continue as normal. The company is working with suppliers, logistics partners, and local teams to assess and manage any potential impacts.

Eaton has advised that it will communicate directly should any operational changes arise. Customers are encouraged to contact their usual Eaton representative for ongoing support.

nVent

nVent has confirmed that it is continuing to monitor the situation in the Middle East and its potential impact on global shipping routes.

The company’s supply chain is designed to be resilient, supported by diversified sourcing, alternative suppliers, inventory buffers, and flexible logistics routing. nVent remains in close contact with its logistics partners and is evaluating alternative delivery routes where necessary.

At present, no immediate disruption to supply has been indicated, and the situation remains under review.
