We are pleased to announce the release of GT Works3 1.196 in English for the Melsoft family.
The new software package substitutes the existing version 1.190.

Setting up GOT2000 HMI with multiple connections over Ethernet.GOT2000 & GOTSimple HMIs have the capability to setup multiple connections with two different controllers e.g. two different PLC platforms, and is also capable of having up to 64 stations on a single channel. This is achieved by having 2 channel connections.
The technical tip PDF shows the example of setting up FX series PLC on Channel 1 and Q series PLC on Channel 2. Although these two platforms are both Mitsubishi, they are both different in functionality and programming methods.
In other terms if a manufacturing company is working with two different product brands one HMI can communicate to both of them as long as the HMI has a suitable driver installed for that product brand.

In this example the password is ‘1234’. Once these are filled click on ‘APPLY and OK’
The next stage is to apply a security level to a specific screen(s) accordingly.
In this example base screen 2 is set to level security 1 therefore a keypad will be prompt as soon
as you try to access screen 2. You can access these settings in screen property.
Important Information
When the GOT HMI screen is running and you have entered the password in the prompt keypad the password will remain in the set data register until it has been reset. A suitable way to reset the data register is to use a switch to reset the data register or use a switch to go back to main screen (screen1) and also to reset the data register as the same time.
Example: Switch for screen switch and changing D100 back to ‘0’
Once this menu is completed click ‘OK’. Your password screen has now been completed.

Mechatronics is a multidisciplinary field of science that includes a combination of mechanical engineering, electronics and Control Systems and despite being around for more than 50 Years, today we are seeing a real time need to connect Industry. To ensure that we continue to move with current industry trends CDL has brought together a few of their strongest Manufacturers at the Manufacturing Technology Centre in Coventry where they were able to showcase new products and integrated solutions that combined, strenghtens their systems with Industry 4.0 and The Internet of Things placing them firmly at the front of their mind.
The Mechatronics workshop was centered around the Mitsubishi Automation Platform, and supported by key manufacturers such as SMC, SICK and SMAC. Each manufacturer presented live presentations of their showcased lineup and performed in-house product demonstrations along with Q&A session at the end of each section.

Introduced in November 2013 at the SPS IPC Drives in Nuremberg, it replaces the present GOT1000 HMI range, but remains backwardly compatible, its panel sizes are identical and existing programmes can be imported.
These enhanced HMIs deliver genuine perspective on the automation process and provide a platform to solve the typical production problems that drive down OEE. With their enhanced functionality, these HMIs provide additional features that will help to reduce downtime, enable fast recovery from simple errors, increase availability and boost production efficiency.
Having inbuilt Ethernet communications means users can operate the GOT2000 remotely from a PC (VNC Server) or even from a tablet or portable terminal.
